Simon is a qualified occupational therapist whose primary interest has been with work-based rehabilitation and occupational health. Simon is the founder and Clinical Director for Enable Works Ltd.
Prior to establishing Enable Works Ltd, Simon was employed by Social Services in the Older Persons Team for Portsmouth City, and in an Immediate Care Team for Southampton PCT. Simon then travelled to New Zealand where he worked on a variety of contracts including Vocational Rehabilitation, Environmental Adaptations, Pain Management and Injury Management.
Since returning to the UK, Simon has trained as a functional and cognitive capacity evaluator and carries out a range of bespoke work-based assessments for employers and insurance companies. He also completes vocational case management for insurance companies and legal professionals.
Simon developed the concept of a team that could meet the goals, targets and deadlines of their customers by combining key professional skills with a true understanding of the differing needs of the individual and employers.
Trish Dowling is a qualified occupational therapist who has worked across all sectors, public and NHS (health and social care), private and charity, gaining a breadth of experience as clinician, manager and head of profession. Trish’s core area of clinical expertise is in mental health including cognitive behaviour therapy.
Trish’s independent practice has been focused on vocational rehabilitation and case management including complex work-based assessments and rehabilitation programmes.
Trish is also a qualified mental health first aid training course instructor, and has delivered to a wide range of customers, including armed forces personnel, voluntary sector and the MK Dons community football engagement team.
Fiona is a highly experienced occupational therapist with substantial expertise in vocational rehabilitation. Fiona has a BSc in Occupational Therapy from Aberdeen niversity.
Fiona has significant experience of undertaking functional and vocational assessments, developing return-to-work programmes and undertaking rehabilitation.
Fiona’s experience spans catastrophic injuries, mental health conditions and chronic fatigue and pain.
Fiona is a Matheson-trained functional capacity evaluator and has extensive experience across occupational health, employment support and insurance based work.
Philippa is a qualified occupational therapist with particular expertise in neurological injuries and vocational rehabilitation. Philippa holds Diplomas in Occupational Therapy and Inclusive Environments, and an MSc in Health Sciences.
Philippa has substantial experience of managing the rehabilitation, resettlement and return to work of clients who have suffered neurological impairment and other catastrophic injuries. Philippa is a Matheson-trained functional capacity evaluator and can carry out bespoke vocational assessments for employers and insurance companies. Philippa also has significant experience of working with patients with autism and other behaviour and communication difficulties.
Vicky is an Independent Vocational Coach and Counsellor. She has a background of social care and housing management, where she has over 30 years’ experience of leadership in the UK and New Zealand. Vicky has led and coached many highly effective individuals and teams to progress and achieve their goals.
Vicky completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring Practice in 2011 and since then has focused on career coaching, helping many individuals make positive and successful changes in their work life and careers. Vicky works part time in the NHS in the mental health employment support team and actively supports those with mental health issues to return to work or stay in work.
As a qualified counsellor Vicky can deliver counselling services for employers and to our vocational clients as needed.
Dave has been an occupational therapist for 30 years, and after working in various clinical settings in the NHS, he went on to specialise in Vocational Rehabilitation and Job Retention. He was the lead clinician for the first Primary Care mental health job retention service in England, which came to be known as the Avon Pilot, and which paved the way for Employment Support workers in IAPT Services. Dave was a co-author of the MIND funded Job Retention Practitioner’s Handbook (2011).
Dave has worked as an OT in an occupational health setting and is experienced in workplace needs assessment and return to work planning for employees with both physical and mental health conditions.
Dave is an experienced trainer, holds a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, and delivers courses in Job Retention Case Management Training, Mental Health Confident for Employers, Job Design for Neurodiversity, Stress Management and Well-being, and Good Practice in DSE and Workplace Ergonomics.
